Dive into Disney Magic: Your Ultimate Guide to the Kingdom of Dreams!

Just driving up into the park is amazing, and you feel so excited, adult or kid!

Before we get lost in the world of enchanted castles and talking mice, let's talk practicalities. Yep, I'm talking about tickets and prices. I know, I know, not the most magical topic, but hey, even Cinderella had to plan ahead!

Park Hours for the Magic Kingdom

Now we all love thunder mountain, one of my all time favorites, and you can get there as early as can be!

Wednesday

Early birds can enter at 8:30 AM, but for the rest of us, the gates swing open at 9:00 AM and close at a late 10:00 PM. Want to hop between parks? You can do so from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. And for those who just can't get enough, there's an extended evening from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Just another piece of history, different entries but still the same magic!

Thursday

Similar timings, but no extended evening hours. So, make sure you've wrapped up your adventures by 10:00 PM!

Friday

Rise and shine at 7:30 AM! The park closes a tad earlier at 6:00 PM, but there's a special ticketed event from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Sounds mysterious, right?

Weekend Vibes

For both Saturday and Sunday , the park operates from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with park hopping available from 2:00 PM.

Mickey and Minnie! The parades are so fun, and enjoyable!

Park Hopping? Here's the Lowdown

If you've got the Park Hopper ticket, you can flit between theme parks after 2 PM. But remember, you've got to visit and enter your first reserved park before hopping to another. And while you don't need reservations for the second park right now, it's always good to keep an eye on the Disney app for any updates.

Picture taken by my sister, as you can see me in the background, ready to take some piccies!

Ticket Pricing Magic

14-Day Magic Ticket

At just £36 per day, you get access to theme parks, water parks, and the ability to visit multiple parks per day after 2 PM. Plus, Memory Maker is included (worth $199)! And the cherry on top? You get 14 days for the price of 7 for arrivals up to 30th September 2023.

7-Day Magic Ticket

Same perks as the 14-Day ticket but spread over 7 days. Priced at £72 per day.

Booking Tips

- Please take a look at the disney pass for help in getting around the parks, or just magic kingdom, and cut queues!

- Remember, kids under age 3 don't need a ticket. Lucky them!

Disney is all about the magic, but a little planning goes a long way. Stick to the T&Cs, and you're all set for a hassle-free experience. So, grab your Mickey ears, and let's dive into the magic together! 🏰✨

A Magical Journey Through Time: The Evolution of Magic Kingdom

To think, Walt Disney created his dream and made it what Disney is today, pretty impressive!

Ah, the Magic Kingdom! A place where dreams come true and where every corner holds a story. Let's embark on a magical journey through time, exploring the enchanting history of this iconic park.

In the early 1970s, the Magic Kingdom opened its gates, offering a world of wonder that was different from what we know today. Imagine stepping into the park for the first time in 1971. The sights, the sounds, the sheer magic of it all! It was a larger, more refined version of Disneyland in California, built upon the lessons learned from its predecessor.

One of the things about Magic Kingdom and its history is the fine details to everything the workers put in it, I only noticed it actually says railroad office, how unique!

The park was divided into six captivating lands: Main Street, USA, Adventureland, Liberty Square, Frontierland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland. And here's a fun tidbit: instead of a single admission fee, guests used ticket books with categories ranging from A to E, with the thrilling "E-ticket rides" being the most sought after. Ever heard the term "E-ticket ride"? Well, now you know its origins!

Now the parades under the sun can get very INTENSE, so find a seat early, grab some water, and suncream, and enjoy it! How do the workers stay in that suit?! WOW!

But not all the attractions we adore today were present at the park's inception. For instance, Space Mountain, a now-iconic ride, was introduced later in the 1970s. And can you believe Pirates of the Caribbean wasn't initially planned for the Magic Kingdom? Due to public demand, the pirate-themed attraction finally set sail in 1973.

The late 1970s and early 1980s were a time of rapid expansion, with new attractions and experiences popping up frequently. However, the focus shifted in the 1980s to the development of EPCOT Center, leading to a transition from the ticket book system to an all-inclusive admission fee.

One thing I do love is PRIDE, and lately Disney have really been giving!

The 1990s was a decade of transformation for the Magic Kingdom. Tomorrowland underwent a significant makeover, adopting a retro-futuristic theme. But not all changes were met with applause. The closure of beloved attractions like "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" and "Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride" left many fans nostalgic.

Fast forward to the 2000s, and we saw the Fantasyland expansion, introducing attractions like the Journey of the Little Mermaid and Snow White’s Mine Cart. And who could forget the exquisite dining experiences at Be Our Guest Restaurant and Gaston’s Tavern?

Look at how the horse has a cute little Mickey badge, amazing!

In recent years, while other parks like Hollywood Studios and Epcot underwent massive renovations, the Magic Kingdom has been relatively quiet. But, anticipation is building for the upcoming Tron’s Lightcycle, a thrilling coaster that promises to add a new dimension of excitement to the park.

From its humble beginnings to its current grandeur, the park has always been a beacon of magic, wonder, and imagination. Here's to many more years of magical memories at the Magic Kingdom!

Knowing Disney is now celebrating its 100 years, makes me look back to when I went, and reeled in all the magic. The main thing is, I don’t mind the flight to America either, even if it is 8 hours!

Magic Kingdom Thrill Seeker's Guide: Kid-Friendly Adventures Await!

Now magic Kingdom has so many things to do, but here’s my top, as we know, you need a couple of days, but top tip, definitely purchase fast pass tickets!

If you're looking for a heart-pounding, adrenaline-pumping experience that's still perfect for the little ones, you've come to the right place. Magic Kingdom is brimming with rides that cater to the adventurer in all of us, no matter our age. While everyone's favorites might differ, that's the true magic of Disney. However, I *highly* recommend giving these rides a whirl

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

One of the better rides in the thrill section I would have to say, it speeds around and whisks you away, and lets out a scream, it’s worth it!

📍 Frontierland, Magic Kingdom Park

Hold onto your hats as you race through a haunted gold mine on this exhilarating coaster. It's not just a ride; it's an adventure filled with legends, ghost towns, and dynamite explosions. Perfect for kids, tweens, teens, and adults who crave a bit of thrill with small drops.

Take the leap, after queuing for a very long time, and explore the mountains at top speed, and lift your hands in the air, if anything, they recommend it!

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Now, we did queue, in the scorching heat, for 4 HOURS, now, i’ll get into that later, but for the ride, kids will love it, its fast and not to long, but, that’s also it, I waited 4 hours, for a 1 minute ride?

📍 Fantasyland, Magic Kingdom Park

Join Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs on this swaying family coaster ride. Dive deep into the diamond mine, sing along with the dwarfs, and enjoy the breathtaking view of Fantasyland.

Join Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in a landmine of speed, exploration and fun, and grab a book, you’ll need it for the long queue!

Space Mountain

Ah, Tomorrowland, one of my core memories, and Space Mountain is exactly that. I love everything about it, and so will anyone you go with, or, by yourself, it’s worth it.

📍 Tomorrowland, Magic Kingdom Park

Blast off into the vastness of outer space on this roller-coaster ride in complete darkness. Navigate through celestial wonders and feel the pull of gravity in a swirling wormhole. It's a galactic adventure not to be missed!

One of the most popular rides in the park for a reason, it’s something out of this world!

TRON Lightcycle / Run – New!

So this is NEW, I didn’t get to go on it, so if you do, please send me an email or a message on instagram and let me know!

📍 Tomorrowland, Magic Kingdom Park

Dive into the digital world of TRON on one of the fastest coasters at any Disney theme park. Race against the Grid’s most menacing Programs and secure your team’s victory. This ride is a blend of technology and thrill, making it a must-try!

As a HUGE fan of the 80’s film and the modern one, I am jealous, and now, well now I have to go back!

Pirates of the Caribbean

For a while I really did think Johnny Depp was there, but turns out its just a very unique machine, well done Disney!

📍 Adventureland, Magic Kingdom Park

Embark on a swashbuckling voyage to the golden age of piracy. Sail past haunted coves, navigate through cannon fire, and sing along with the iconic pirate anthem. And keep an eye out for Captain Jack Sparrow!

Now, don’t forget to check out the really cool gift shop as well, so worth buying a tee, I did!

Remember, everyone's thrill threshold is different, and that's what makes Disney so magical. Always check the height requirements before hopping on a ride. Happy thrill-seeking!

Calm Ride Seekers: A Gentle Journey Through Magic Kingdom Park

Join the world of the little ones! Now this is the Dwarf mine, but there are so many things to do in Magic Kingdom, even I’m getting lost typing this!

If you're looking for a serene experience that appeals to both the young and the young-at-heart, you're in the right place. Here are some of my top picks for those seeking a calm and delightful journey through Magic Kingdom Park:

It's a small world

IT’S A LAND OF JOY ITS A LAND OF TEARS

Where: Fantasyland

What: A whimsical boat ride that takes you past children from around the world, singing in harmony. It's a gentle reminder that our world is beautifully interconnected.

One of my nans and I’s favourite rides, just so therapeutic, although, the song does stick, check it out here!

He is so big in person, who’d have guessed! No but this ride is so fun, although I lost!

Where: Tomorrowland

What: Join Buzz Lightyear on a mission to defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg. It's a slow-moving, interactive ride where you can shoot targets and earn points.

Defeat emperor Zurg in this fun and thrilling zapping game, it’s worth the chill movement and fun for all!

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

If your kids do fall under the height limit, an adult must ride with them, but this is a lovely and calming ride.

Where: Fantasyland

What: A classic ride where you can soar high with Dumbo. It's a gentle spin that offers a bird's-eye view of the park.

Now adults, watch your kids fly and enjoy the Dumbo ride, or join them! Have a great time and fly high!

Haunted Mansion

The inside is just as spooky, well, not really, but if you or your kids (family of young ones) aren’t a massive fan of spooky stuff, maybe sit this one out!

Where: Liberty Square

What: A slow-moving journey through a mansion filled with "happy haunts." It's more whimsical than scary, making it perfect for all ages.

I loved it everytime I went, Eddie Murphy and the heads were so fun!

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Now there is a ride, but I just loved the parade of Winnie the Pooh! Who doesn’t love our bear who adores hunny!

Where: Fantasyland

What: Travel with Pooh and friends through the Hundred-Acre Wood. It's a delightful trip filled with familiar faces and stories.

Look at the pink elephants and enjoy the whole ride, it's perfect for all ages!

Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid

Now, fun fact, this is from Tokyo Disney Sea! All fun and interesting, with Triton's kingdom palace!

Where: Fantasyland

What: Dive into Ariel's world and relive the classic tale of The Little Mermaid. It's a musical adventure that's sure to enchant.

Who watched the new Little Mermaid and loved it? I did! Well, the ride is just as fun and thrilling, but in a journey through the ocean with flounder and friends!

These "slow rides" are perfect for anyone seeking a relaxing experience. They're not only calming but also suitable for children of all ages. While there are many more attractions suitable for our little ones, these are just a few of my favorites.

Yeehaw! Head over to Frontierland's Grizzly Hall and prepare for a knee-slappin', toe-tappin' country-and-western musical extravaganza. With 18 Audio-Animatronics hillbilly bears serenading you, this 16-minute musical journey is packed with humor, heart, and a whole lot of southern charm. Fun fact: This is one of the last attractions Walt Disney personally helped develop. So, come on down and join the jamboree!

🔗 Sing along and have fun, and let me know what you think, check it out here!

Mickey's PhilharMagic: A Mesmerizing 3D Musical Adventure!

Reviews of the Magic Kingdom, Disney World

So as you know, this was me AGES ago, gosh, was it 2011, I can’t imagine, but here is my family and I (I’m on the right) In main street, the 2010s were a blast!

5 Stars

1. A Magical Day with the Kiddos!

Dec 2022 • Family

Oh honey, let me tell you, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party was the absolute bomb! Took my two munchkins (one's a toddler, the other's practically a newborn) and it was a blast. If you're all about those rides, you're in for a treat - no lines, like ever! But darling, a word of advice, pack for both chilly and warm weather. I was sweating bullets in my cute sweater and leggings combo. And remember, just go with the flow, especially with the little ones in tow!

Now how cute is this Donald Duck big balloon!

2. Honeymoon Magic!

Just look at Jessie sour! Loved this picture, why thank you!

Jul 2023 • Couples

After a long wait (thanks, Covid), we finally had our dream honeymoon from the UK. Four years of planning and it was worth every second. The Polynesian was our home, and MK our playground. Genie+ was our fairy godmother, helping us skip those pesky lines. The magic was alive and well, and we were living our best Disney life!

4 Stars

I love that Disney has partnered with Coca Cola, as who doesn’t like a coke from a glass bottle!

1. Almost Perfect Family Getaway

Why does Mickey Mouse look so cool here!

Date Unknown • Family

Magic Kingdom was a dream, but a few hiccups here and there. The queues? Oh honey, longer than my last relationship. And the characters? Nowhere in sight. Drinks and snacks cost an arm and a leg, so pack your own. And the staff? Not as chirpy as I remembered. But hey, it's Disney, and the magic still sparkles!

2. A Sprinkle of Magic with a Dash of Reality

As the snow loomed, and the lights lit up main street, it’s also good to remember how busy and crowded it can really get.

Aug 2023 • Family

The magic's there, but at a price. Getting into the park was a marathon, and don't get me started on the class system. But the parks? Still as enchanting as ever. Tron is a must-ride, and Thunder Mountain? Way better than the hype. Do your homework, and you'll have a blast!

3 Stars

Here’s my sister and I outside the museum of president’s which was really informative for us British kids! I’d rate Disney World, well Magic Kingdom 3 stars, there's just so much to do, I always feel like I missed out, and looking back, how did my mum afford to take us thrice?!

1. First Timer's Mixed Bag

The castle from afar is stunning, no matter the angle

Aug 2023 • Family

Was super pumped for my first Disney experience, but left a tad disappointed. The app was confusing, and missing out on Tron was a bummer. Universal and Kennedy seemed more user-friendly. It was alright, but I expected more pixie dust.

2. It Was...Okay?

Say let it go, and say hello to Elsa, and some bust street,s impossible queues, and expensive food!

May 2023 • Family

Having been to Paris, I expected Orlando to be bigger and better. But the rides felt shorter, and the Genie+ system was a headache. Left early because the kids were over it. It's clean and the staff's great, but something was missing. Maybe it's just me?

2 Stars

Dotted around the park are some gorgeous bushes and flowers decorated as the characters of Disney, but, you have to somewhat feel like the bushes get treated better at times than the staff

1. Disney's Pricey Adventure

The parade, luckily free, but wow, look at those people, and there’s more behind me, but I do appreciate the talent and hard work that goes into these parades! Especially in the Florida heat!

Aug 2023 • Family

17 years later and the magic's been replaced by dollar signs. Park tickets? A small fortune. Genie+? Another chunk of change. And the rides? Few and far between. The parade was a delight, but overall, it felt like a money grab. Not the Disney I remember.

2. Where's the Magic?

Can you imagine being painted green? I don’t know if I ever could, but although it can feel a bit dull, I do urge people to really read ahead and consider if it is for them!

Jun 2023 • Family

Overpriced and overcrowded. The entrance was a nightmare, and the ticket scanning? Don't get me started. The fireworks were a saving grace. But for the price? I expected more. Won't be coming back anytime soon.

1 Star

Now if this doesn’t make you chuckle, I just don’t know what will!

1. Tron Disappointment

It’s a shame I've read quite a few bad reviews, as I was really wanting to go back for this ride, maybe I'll love it?

Aug 2023 • Friends

Traveled all the way from Australia and couldn't even get on Tron. The virtual queue was a mess, and even the Lightning option was a no-go. Overcrowded and overpriced. Not the Disney magic I was hoping for.

2. Not the Disney of My Memories

No matter what, all opinions and views matter, and I hope this amazing photo of Tomorrowland persuades you to go, as it is worth it at least once, I’d say!

Aug 2023 • Couples

10 years later and it's a whole different ball game. Crowded, expensive, and the wait times? Ridiculous. Only managed four rides in 11 hours. It's a hard pass for me in the future.

Personal Take

Disney's magic is undeniable. The characters, the rides, the parades - it's a world of its own. But with the crowds, the heat, and the prices? It's a lot to take in. It's a place of memories, but also a place that'll empty your wallet real quick. Would I go back? Maybe, but I'd have to think long and hard about it. For now, I'll stick to my local adventures and leave the magic to the kids.

With my Disney shirt on, and next to some STUNNING ladies, I felt great, maybe it was because I got it all for free due to being a kid? Well, I enjoyed it! I would again… If it was free!

A Nostalgic Farewell to the Enchanted Realm of Magic Kingdom

From Cinderella, to Belle, to Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, we cannot forget the Disney Villains, and I really did admire the hard work they put in, to make it almost come alive?

Ah, the Magic Kingdom. A place where dreams come true, where every corner holds a memory, and where the magic is as real as the smiles on the faces of those who walk its streets. For many, including our dear reader, it's not just a theme park; it's a repository of cherished memories, a testament to the joys of childhood and the thrill of adventure.

From the mouth-watering aromas wafting from the food stalls, offering everything from classic Disney treats to international delicacies, to the exhilarating rides that cater to both the thrill-seekers and those in search of calmer adventures, Magic Kingdom has always been a world in itself. Whether you're reminiscing about the heart-pounding excitement of Thunder Mountain or the whimsical journey with Winnie the Pooh, each ride is a chapter in the storybook of your visits.

Propped up in Fantasyland, do engage in the world of weird and wonderful, with Alice in Wonderland, and just embrace the magic!

Tickets in hand, as you entered those gates, time seemed to stand still. The opening times were mere numbers, for the magic never truly ended. Extras like parades, where characters from beloved tales danced and waved, made every visit unique. And who could forget those special character experiences? Meeting your favorite Disney heroes and villains was like stepping into a fairy tale.

The reviews from countless visitors echo the same sentiment: Magic Kingdom is not just a place, but an experience. Every corner, every attraction, and every show is meticulously designed to ensure that the magic touches every soul. And while prices for various attractions and stays might vary, the memories created here? Priceless.

Now, who doesn’t like these Mickey hats, I loved them!

Speaking of stays, whether you chose to nestle in the heart of the park or find accommodation outside, the aura of Magic Kingdom never really left you. The park's hotels offered a continuation of the enchantment, while those outside provided a momentary respite before another day of adventures.

For our dear reader, the years 2008, 2011, and 2016 weren't just dates on a calendar. They were chapters of joy, of laughter, of wide-eyed wonder, and of countless memories at Magic Kingdom. And while we bid adieu to this magical realm for now, the heart knows that every ending is a new beginning. As we close this chapter, another awaits at Animal Kingdom, another masterpiece from the visionary Walt Disney.

To Mickey and Minnie, you gave me such a good childhood, and I hope you continue to inspire many

In conclusion, thank you, dear reader, for embarking on this nostalgic journey with us. It was long, reminiscent of those endless Floridian summer days, but every moment was worth it. Because that's the thing about places like Magic Kingdom - they stay with you, long after you've left their gates.

And with Mickey dancing, that’s a wrap, onto Animal Kingdom!
