3) Musician’s Escape in Crackington Haven

I love these types of wooden lodges/ barn conversions, they’re always so homely!

If you're in the mood for a whimsical getaway that's like a melody from a forgotten song, then "Musician’s Escape" in Crackington Haven is your go-to spot! Imagine nesting in a cozy, converted barn that's not just a place to stay, but a story waiting to be told. It's a treasure trove for the soul - with a piano to tinkle the ivories, a super-king-sized bed that's like sleeping on a cloud, and a sauna to sweat out the city blues. And at £159 per night, it's a steal for the serenity it offers.

Now, picture this: You wake up in this rustic retreat, enveloped by ancient woodlands. The sunlight dances through the windows as you make your way to the sprawling garden, coffee in hand, ready to greet the day. After a day of exploring, you're just a five-minute drive from the whispering waves at Crackington Haven beach or the welcoming embrace of the local pub.

This barn is a haven for the bohemian at heart. It's decked out with a record player and a vast vinyl collection that's a nod to the golden days of music. Need more? How about cozying up in front of the wood burner or soaking in a brand new bathtub? It's the little luxuries that make it special.

Now I know it’s VERY expensive, but I look at how nice this is, and I just think, for a great little secret, it’s worth it!

For £1,114, you get a 7-night stay in this slice of paradise (with cleaning, service fee, and taxes all rolled into one). And hey, there's even a price-match guarantee with a cheeky discount - pay just £557 today, and it's all set.

A few things to note: Bring your furry friend along for an additional £20 (but keep them on a lead), and remember, it's rustic charm over modern convenience here. The nearest shop and pub are a short drive away, and there's no washing machine, but your hosts have your back. And for those who need to stay connected, worry not; the mobile signal is strong for most networks.

In summary, Musician's Escape isn't just a place; it's an experience. It's where you go to find the luxuries of the soul, nestled in the heart of Cornwall's countryside. So, ready to book your bohemian escape?

5) Castaways in Sennen

That’s right, the beach is RIGHT THERE!

Ever dreamed of a secret hideaway by the sea? Well, let me introduce you to Castaways in Sennen, a slice of paradise in Cornwall's hidden Vellandreath Valley. Picture this: a quaint cottage, once a net loft, nestled snugly in the sand dunes, just a stone's throw (250 metres, to be precise) from the beach. The first thing you'll notice? The stunning view! The cottage boasts a panoramic vista of Whitesands Bay, Sennen, and Sennen Cove, with even a distant peek at the Isles of Scilly.

But there's more to Castaways than just its breathtaking location. This south-facing retreat, accessible only by a sandy beach path, promises privacy and tranquility. Imagine waking up to the sound of waves and stepping out into your sun-trapped garden, bordered by a gentle stream. The cottage's open plan living area and bespoke conservatory blur the lines between indoors and outdoors, offering a unique experience of living in harmony with nature.

Honestly, Cornwall in the summer is one of Britain's prettiest places.

The charm of Castaways lies in its blend of rustic and contemporary. Exposed beams, high ceilings, and granite walls hark back to its fisherman's cottage roots, while modern amenities like underfloor heating and a touch-sensitive hob add a touch of luxury. The two bedrooms are a cozy haven, especially the double bedroom with its antique brass bed and ensuite wet room.

What's unique about this place is the absence of cars. Yes, you heard that right – no vehicular access means no traffic, just peace and quiet. It's a bit of a trek to get there, but totally worth it for the serenity you'll find. And don't worry about lugging your bags; there's an optional luggage service to ease your arrival and departure.

Perfect for a group of four, Castaways is available for a week-long stay starting from January 20, 2024, for £1,299, plus a refundable security deposit. Just a heads up, it's not the best fit for anyone with mobility issues, given its unique location.

Now, although it is not available until the summer, I had to add this, just look at those stone walls!

Hey there, fellow adventurers! If you're on the hunt for a hidden gem in Cornwall, let me introduce you to the incredible Skylark Cottage, nestled at number 6 on our top-secret list. This cozy haven has been making waves with its 4.8-star Sykes rating and rave reviews from 51 happy guests. And trust me, it's not just the rating that's impressive.

Imagine waking up in a king-size bed in a stylishly converted farm building, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of Bodmin Moor and Cornwall's idyllic North coast. Skylark Cottage offers a perfect blend of modern amenities and natural charm. But wait, there's more! The cottage is perfectly poised for exploring Cornwall's wonders. From the rugged Bodmin Moor to the high cliffs and hidden coves of the North coast, there's no shortage of adventures. Sadly, this slice of paradise is off the books until summer 2024. But hey, good things come to those who wait, right? Keep this one on your radar for an unforgettable Cornish getaway!

Do come back and check in the summer!

7) Sycamore Lodge in Helston

Now my only advice (as someone who stayed here) It can get really cold! So wrap warm!

Just had to share our latest gem of a discovery - Sycamore Lodge in Helston, Cornwall. Picture this: a charming, all-ground-floor lodge, nestled in the serene Cornish countryside, just perfect for that romantic getaway. We stayed here recently, and oh, it was a dream!

The lodge itself is a cozy haven with a king-size bed and an en-suite walk-in shower (complete with a heated towel rail – fancy, right?). But the real showstopper? The open-plan living space with its own wood burning stove. Perfect for snuggling up on chilly evenings. And yes, it does get a bit nippy, but that's just part of the charm!

Now, let’s talk about amenities because Sycamore Lodge has it all – a fully equipped kitchen, WiFi (for all you Instagrammers), and even a washing machine. They've got your basics covered, so you can pack light. The private south-facing terrace with its own lawn and patio furniture was our little slice of paradise. Imagine sipping your morning coffee with nothing but the sound of nature around you.

I got to see COWS!!

For those bringing their furry friends, the lodge is pet-friendly, though they do say 'no puppies' (sorry, little furballs!). And smokers, you'll have to step out, as it's a no-smoking zone.

The location? It's spot on! Tucked away on a working farm in Porkellis, near Helston, you're just a stone's throw away from the quaint Star Inn pub and a myriad of country walks. We ventured out to Stithians Lake – a must for watersports enthusiasts and birdwatchers. And don’t get me started on the food at the Wild Vibes Cafe by the lake – absolutely delish!

If you're up for a bit more adventure, Falmouth is just 12 miles away, with its stunning beaches, tropical gardens, and a lovely coast-to-coast cycle trail. And let's not forget the hidden coves and beaches from Porthleven to Penzance. Pure Cornish magic!

It really, really did feel so private and intimate, and we found it by fluke online, I hope you are persuaded!

So, if you're looking for that perfect, secluded spot for two in Cornwall, Sycamore Lodge is it. Oh, and a heads up for the tech-savvy – there's no electric car charging here, so plan accordingly. And just so you know, it's an adult-only spot, so leave the kiddos at home for this one.

Prices are pretty sweet too. We snagged a week from Fri 5 Jan - Fri 12 Jan for just £381, down from £457. Talk about a steal!
